Our Vessel
Our Vessel ‘Casie and Boys’ is a solid 50’ foot Atkinson Cape Island Hull built in Clarks Harbour, N.S. The ‘Casie and Boys’ has a 7.5’ foot draft, which is the distance between the waterline and the base of the vessel, making her a very solid sea boat on the water.
We run a 400 horsepower Volvo engine. Our vessel is equipped with a washroom on the port side and meets all of Transport Canada safety regulations. Life vests are available for all on board, but not required to be worn. The roof houses 3 large life rafts which will fit all on board in the case of an emergency.
The ‘Casie and Boys’ is used to harvest lobster from the end of November until the end of May each year. In June she is switched over to a pleasure craft used to take passengers on tours around the Bay of Fundy and St. Mary’s Bay out of Tiverton, N.S.
Formally known as the ‘Nellie Row’, and featured on Netflix’s “The Sinner’, the ‘Casie and Boys’ was bought in Lunenburg, N.S. from long-time captain Gail Atkinson. Atkinson operated the vessel to harvest lobster in the winter months and herring in the summer months, with her all-female crew. Featured in the photo are Captain Matt Melanson and Captain Gail Atkinson aboard the vessel before Captain Matt sailed her from Lunenburg to Digby Neck.
